Feeling Fresh: We Love Mint

March 18, 2014

The sugared almond theme continues with this season’s colour palette being dominated by delicious mint shades.  Several of the key fashion houses displayed collections full of pastel green delights that were good enough to eat, and we quite simply can’t get enough!

So just why is mint so bloomin’ marvellous?

Well aside from obviously giving all our basics a lift, from casual boxy fit tees to slim fitted midis, there is a wide variety of possibilities with this super shade. Ranging from light to dark shades to suit literally any skin tone, mint works perfectly with all the other soft shades we’re loving this season, like rose pink or peach.  Traditionally symbolizing growth and freshness, is it any wonder that it’s stepping our spring wardrobe up a notch?

Right now, it’s all about working mint into monochrome combinations for a truly statement feel. Bold blocks of black are lifted with even the smallest hint of mint, think classic, minimalist tailoring with a high impact mint floral necklace for example. For a more casual approach, mint details can be used to tone daytime polka dots across footwear and accessories.
