Born and bred Londoner Jonas Blue has taken the music world by storm this year with his cleverly crafted dance/pop pieces. You’ll have heard his name attached to hits like Fast Car which spent 11 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 and Perfect Strangers followed suit with both singles reaching multi-platinum and gold status. We caught up with the DJ and producer to talk dating; from what he would wear, the best venues and the perfect ice-breaker convos.
First off, where would you take her and where would you want her to take you?
“I love London, so I would say a rooftop overlooking the city with a private chef, or the Dorchester Hotel- they have amazing suites- we could have dinner in the room, with some Jazz music in the background”
What would you wear?
“You can’t knock a suit, so I would wear one but without the tie, a crisp white shirt and a solid tan. I would definitely have a pocket square and a fresh pair of brogues to accessorise. I’d just love to be David Gandy!”
What don’t you want to see them wearing?
“I would say a suede-esque dress. Any fabric that looks like curtains…”
What’s your ice-breaking go-to conversation?
“What’s your favourite pet? or what’s your party trick?”
Worst venue for a date?
“I think the cinema. Everyone does it, but I think you’re starting things the wrong way. How can you get to know someone?”
Do you cover the bill or split it?
“Always cover the bill”
Things to avoid doing/ eating/ saying on a first date?
“Eating garlic or onions… avoid saying too much about yourself- you won’t get to know the person. Just don’t insult them”
Best date you’ve been on in the past?
“I got taken out, to the Opera- la boheme. I admit it was similar to the cinema, but we went out for a drink afterwards to a very London pub"
And the worst?
“You know what, I haven’t had many bad dates… I think if anything, just a date where we didn’t really speak”
