Last week we visited Stockholm with blogger Joey London, fitness entrepreneur Adi Gillespie and superstar model Diego Barrueco for a training session with our NL Men Sports ambassador, Sanny Dahlbeck. It wasn’t all punch bags and kick combos, though, as we called on the help of Stockholm local and Travel Expert Joakim Lang (@joakimlang) to show us the hottest spots in town and even some hidden gems you won’t find in a normal city guide. BREAKFAST AND COFFEE BREAK
Tjärhovsgatan 19, Södermalm & Hagagatan 4, Vasastan
This hidden small and cozy gem offers great brunch that will satisfy your taste buds. Be prepared to stand in line as you can’t book a table in advance. You will not be the only one who wants a taste of the famous smashed avocado toast or the classic eggs benedict.

Bondegatan 64 , Södermalm & Odengatan 39, Vasastan
This breakfast place is one of the hot spots in town. The menu offers an exceptional variety of healthy breakfast items in a scaled-down and modern space. Famous for their perfectly boiled eggs and acai bowls, this little gem should be enjoyed at least once during your visit to Stockholm.

On a quiet corner, one block from busy Odenplan, you will find Café Pascal. Pascal make great coffee and their sandwiches with shrimp or porchetta are to die for. In January 2016 the café won the prestigious Gulddraken award for the best café in Stockholm.

Snickarbacken 7, Östermalm
Snickarbacken offers healthy and delicious food options for both breakfast and lunch. During your visit, make sure to check out their exhibition space and concept store located within this cool space from the late 1800s that use to be stables.
Miss Clara Hotel
Sveavägen 48, City
Miss Clara offers spacious and bright rooms decorated in a classic Scandinavian design. This is the hotel for the trend conscious. Each Saturday, one of Stockholm’s tastiest brunches is served along with some live tunes.
Sveavägen 44, City
A cheaper alternative located on the bottom floor of the popular and hip restaurant, Urban Deli. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Hötorget metro station, a short walk from the city centre. If your budget is limited, this is the perfect place for you.
Gröna gången 1, Skeppsholmen
A design hotel located on a beautiful island a short walk from the city center. The rooms and the interior design offers a classic Scandinavian style mixed with a rustic touch, in a cozy setting. During spring and summer, relax here with a cocktail, and great food, while overlooking a stunning waterfront view.
Hammarby Slussväg 2. Södermalm
This famous club is well known for its international touch and cool wooden house setting - an underground club, which is a pulsing techno heaven. During the summer, the popular club opens up an outdoor space called Trädgården (garden in English).
Birger Jarlsgatan 20, Östermalm
Right next to Stureplan, on Östermalm, you will find Spy Bar – perhaps Stockholm’s most notorious nightclub. Here, the big media names rub shoulders with the more alternative crowd. Make sure you arrive early to get in, it’s extremely popular. The club is always packed and the line is always long, but we guarantee, it is worth it!

Norrlandsgatan 24, Östermalm
Here you will find the best Moscow mule in town. The space is divided between two floors where the first floor is a more sophisticated and laid backed space perfect for socializing. On the upper level you can party the night away to pumping R&B and hip hop tunes, under an open sky.
Stortorget 7, Old Town
Pharmarium is inspired by the first pharmacy in the country and it is worth visiting for the atmosphere itself. They serve extraordinary cocktails in a space inspired by medicine, beauty and magic.
At Taverna Brillo you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails. The ice-cream bar, located in the front of the venue, offers a perfect scoop of pistachio ice cream, which is best served with a glass of cold sparkling champagne.
Norr Mälarstrand 64, Kungsholmen
Visit Mälarpaviljonen during the summer for a cool seaside breeze and a stunning waterfront view. The atmosphere is relaxed and laidback, enjoy a book during the day with a glass of wine, or come here during the evening for a strawberry punch and a people-filled pier.
RESTAURANTS AND FOOD
Meat on a Stick
Roslagsgatan 6, Vasastan
Kebab made from scratch with freshly baked bread and nutritious veggies. Either stay and enjoy the meal in the minimalistic setting or grab the food to-go and enjoy it outside in one of Stockholm’s beautiful parks.
Nytorget 4, Södermalm
Urban Deli is an eco-friendly restaurant, food market, and bar located in the hip area SoFo on Södermalm. They sell ready-to-go lunch boxes, perfect for an outside adventure around the Nytorget Square.
Humlegårdsgatan 14, Östermalm
This is the place where you can taste what all of Scandinavian cuisine has to offer. The menu is divided into sections that represent each Nordic country. Hillenberg always have new drinks on their drink menu but make sure to try their popcorn drink, it will blow your mind.
Linnégatan 18, Östermalm
This Japanese style dinner club offers top-notch Asian fusion dishes along with performances from an entertainment group to satisfy all of your senses. Come here if you’re in a party mood.
Folkungagatan 128, Södermalm
This is the place to go for an out of this world culinary experience. The unconventional service could either offer you a smoked salmon with a lit cigarette on top or force you to take a shot of mysterious liqour. Book well in advance if you want to take part if this exciting and vulgar dinning experience.
THINGS TO DO AND AREAS TO HANG OUT IN
If you´re visiting Stockholm during the summer you must experience the beautiful and breathtaking archipelago. The easiest way is by one of the many boats leaving from Strömkajen in the city centre.
Visit one of the most renowned art galleries and museums when it comes to photography. The restaurant and bar located on the third floor offers you a beautiful panoramic view of Stockholm and all of its islands.
Visit the Royal Palace and experience the watch change. Visit the Royal armoury to check out old jewellery and historical costumes.
Walk the cobblestone streets in the historic area of old Town.
A hip and trendy neighbourhood where you can go for a swim during the summer but also party the night away in one of its many clubs and bars.
Hornsgatan 64, Södermalm
Brandstationen sells antiques and other carefully selected objects that evoke a must-have-craving and they also sell vintage jewellery. In other words, the Brandstationen is best described as a toy store for adults!
Strandvägen 5, Östermalm
Svensk Tenn is Stockholm’s most fashionable interior design store, which holds some of Sweden’s most iconic classic designs. The store also have a tea salon worth visiting due to their great and cosy atmosphere.
Hornstulls Strand 7, Södermalm
An exclusive vintage shop for furniture and interior design. Dusty Deco is all about mixing objects they love, which they would have in their own house. A mix of rough industrial pieces with great patina, design classics, photo art, beaten up leather chairs and beautiful objects they’ve find on their travels.
