From elaborate pumpkin designs to controversial Halloween costumes and celeb support for the opposition, we’re looking at the cultural reaction to Trump from the hilarious to the downright scary in the run-up to the all-important vote in the US.
THE SEASON OF TRUMPKINS
His campaign launch last year saw the birth of the Trumpkin and this October the traditional vegetable carvings have been taken to new levels. From intricate forms to elaborate hair pieces and painted pumpkins, the designs are scarily accurate.

Every cultural phenomenon needs it’s own costume and this year’s selection was a controversial one. While Jemima Goldsmith dressed as Melania Trump accompanied by a mannequin of the presidential candidate, a Mexico City fancy dress shop showcased it’s newest addition to the mask aisle.

SCREAM QUEENS' IVANKA VS IVANA TRUMP
Last week’s Scream Queens was the most culturally relevant episode to date; with American Beauty and Brokeback Mountain dedications, a reference to Ryan Lochte’s hair and a fancy dress dilemma between Ivanka and Ivana Trump. While Lea Michele’s Hester donned a power suit, pearls and super creepy mask as Ivanka, Chanel #5 mistakenly dressed as her mother Ivana, before admitting her (understandable) confusion between the mother and daughter- hilarity ensued.

If there’s one thing we can rely on from Trump, it’s his ability to provide us with the most ridiculous and outrageous statements. The businessman turned TV personality has caused a stir with these quotes below:
“It’s freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming!”
"Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest - and you all know it! Please don't feel so stupid or insecure. It's not your fault.“
“Sometimes your best investments are the ones you don’t make.”
“I think the only difference between me and the other candidates is that I’m more honest and my women are more beautiful.”
“In life you have to rely on the past, and that’s called history”
“Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again – just watch. He can do much better!”
“All of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me – consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.”
THE CELEBS SHOW THEIR SARTORIAL SUPPORT
Meanwhile in Hillary camp… the stars were literally wearing their support for the Democratic candidate with the likes of Rihanna, Lena Dunham, Amy Poehler and Katy Perry all in designs that were as much fashion statements as they were political statements.

Sick of Trump? Here at New Look, we fundamentally disagree with his comments in relation to women. If you do too, you can say it sartorially and rock one of our slogan tees! Shop them below.
