There’s nothing I like more than spending a cold winter afternoon, in a warm and inviting kitchen, baking a festive sweet treat of some kind.
With Christmas day nearly upon us, you’re probably thinking of signature ways to add festive touches to your home.

Christmas isn't far away now and it's the time to start thinking of presents for your loved ones.
The most striking difference between Christmas in Germany and the UK is the actual day of the main celebration. In Germany everything is focused on the 24th of December, Christmas Eve.
With it being the last opportunity to get your gift list to Santa, we thought we’d help you send any last minute wishes to the big guy.
It may be Christmas Eve, but there’s no need to panic.
As simple as this sounds, planning is key. From creating a Pinterest Christmas board or getting out your pen and paper and writing a good old list, I always like to plan. Having a vague idea of what you’re going to get the person in question makes present buying a little easier when you come around to it and far less stressful. I even go as far as writing a list of the shops I intend to buy each present from.
I cannot stress enough how much I love Christmas! The twinkling lights, Christmas Markets, the amazing food and not forgetting the copious amounts of mulled wine. I may go a little over board around the festive period and Christmas shopping is no exception… so make a day of it! I would get the majority of your Christmas shopping done. Reward yourself with a glass of wine and a mince pie once you’re finished.
First tip; you’ll need those comfy shoes on or plenty of pit stops to save your feet. I’d opt for a jeans and jumper combo, practical yet comfortable. Teamed with a gorgeous blush pink coat, I feel good in what I’m wearing yet my outfit won’t hold me back. I’m obsessed with these snakeskin boots too. If you’ve read my blog for a while, you’ll know that I love a statement shoe period and these boots are no exception.
The prospect of being outside in the cold fills me with dread. Shopping for presents online from the comfort of your own home with a mug of hot chocolate seems far more appealing. There are always great discounts floating around this time of year too which you can take full advantage of to save some money on your Christmas shopping.
So there you have it. Five tips which I abide by to ensure that my Christmas shopping is smooth sailing and as seamless as can be. I would love to know how you plan on getting all your Christmas shopping done this year.

One of my favourite things about this time of year, are the wonderful flavours of coffee to drink. Whether it’s gingerbread, chocolate orange or cinnamon, there are an array of different syrups and flavourings available, to spice up our daily coffee routine. My favourite spice has to be cinnamon, and I love adding this to my own lattes at home. It’s a delicious, warming drink and the smell alone reminds me of Christmas.

Party season is upon us! And like the Fairy God Mother of Christmas, I’m eradicating the old what to wear to the office Christmas party woes to make your transition from working gal Cinderella into Belle of the Ball as smooth and seamless as eggnog!
Let’s face it, for many of us the thought of drinking, dancing, and conversing with co-workers outside of office hours is enough to worry about without having to worry about what to wear. So when it comes to working through our wardrobes and picking an Instagram-worthy outfit, you can almost forgive us for buckling under the pressure and auto piloting to the trusted LBD you wore last year. But does it really have to be that difficult? Of course not! If you have a show-stopping dress, it’s a guaranteed conversation starter that’ll avoid any awkward small talk on the weather or how long you’ve been at the company for.
What I’ve shunned in form of sparkle I’ve made up for in colour with this particular look. Of course, a red dress ticks the festive cliché box, but who really cares when you’re setting yourself apart from the crowd.
A touch more accessorising lies with the bag. Do you go clutch, shoulder, or cross-body? Whilst clutches reign supreme in the party dressing preferences, I’ll always opt for a shoulder or cross-body (even better - one that can be both) for this one reason: going hands-free means you can grab a glass of Champagne from the bar with one hand whilst using the other to scoop up canapés with as much joie de vivre as a reindeer that just ate Santa’s mince pie. Plus, this New Look bag nails two major trends in one: embroidery and velvet.
It’s cool, you can thank me later.

My pick would be the animal print fur coats – such a classic which never dates. Wear them this year with Over the Knee boots and a pompom hat.
My last purchase was a fabulous gunmetal sequin dress for the Drapers awards – we won an award and it really stood out on stage!
Wear heels you can dance in – there is nothing worse than sore feet when you are having fun.
My absolute must-have is a leather jacket – I have a whole wardrobe dedicated to them. They work with everything and never go out of style.
Kate Moss of course; she is my style hero.
New Look customers love to show their style and have fun at the same time. They are like your best friends!
Shellsuits….they are coming back but there is nothing flattering about them!!!

There’s nothing I like more than spending a cold winter afternoon, in a warm and inviting kitchen, baking a festive sweet treat of some kind. Each year I bake traditional Christmas desserts, including mince pies and Christmas cake. However, this year I decided to call upon an old recipe of mine, and add a festive twist. This year I have made ginger and almond shortcake slices. These delicious fingers are super easy to make, and are a nice alternative for a Christmas snack!

With Christmas day almost upon us, it’s time to start thinking about unique ways to add festive touches to your home. Need some inspiration? We’ve created a rundown of our top decoration ideas to get you set for the 25th.
Centerpieces have the ability to transform any table and are fun to make. Incorporate figurines such as Santa and snowmen or go down the woodland route with candles, sprigs and pinecones. Add a dusting of white glitter to really bring the scene to life.
Creating your own Hot Chocolate Bar is a sure fire way to get yourself and others excited for Christmas. To really impress, go beyond whipped cream and marshmallows as toppings. We’ve heard cinnamon sticks, hazelnut pieces and diced toffee make great additions.
Perfect for bedrooms and living rooms, floating candles add a touch of tranquillity, relaxation and warmth. Easy to make and not time consuming at all, we’re wondering why we haven’t made them before!
Nothing says Christmas nostalgia like a snow globe. Add a New Look approved twist on the classic and make your own using mason jars! Use spare jars around the house and get the family involved by creating them as gifts for each other.
Christmas without a Christmas Tree just wouldn’t be the same, right? Add a personal touch this year and create your own baubles filled with family photos, glitter, and anything else you fancy. Why not break the rules and place them around the house too?

So the Christmas spirit has started to kick in. The pre-indulging on masses of food and mulled wine begins, and the wallets loosen up a lot. The second best thing to online shopping for gifts? Setting off to the nearest Christmas market for a spot of gift shopping!
A well-made stand-out coat is an essential for winter dressing, keeping you extra warm but still looking the part wherever your feet may lead you. The Puffer was once the fashion faux pas you’d find me succumbing to when the weather got really tough–you know, the last resort? Fling us forward a few years, and I’ve built up quite a collection with this Khaki dream included.
What better way to carry on summer’s off-shoulder hype than to incorporate it into a winter look, with a slip of the old coat? A flamboyant way to show off your layering techniques!
Pretty frills and ruffles have transcended from summer through to the cold season. I do love an understated frill–take, for instance, this black turtle neck jumper quietly layered underneath a casual shirt for subtle and feminine detailing. A fur stole is a great alternative to the basic scarf and the black ankle boot is an essential for day-to-day outfits. A block heel detail provides a comfortable elevation to your step!
Tomorrow we’ll be revealing an exclusive discount code to assist with you Christmas needs.
As the big day approaches, so does the obligatory gift-giving and dreaded present wrapping, but don’t fear! From showstoppers to stocking fillers and everything in-between, our Christmas wrapping hacks have got you covered.
Want a quick way to inject some festive fun to your wrapping? Simply pour some gold stars or glitter onto a flat surface and take a strip of tape. Place the tape sticky side down onto your decoration of choice, and voila! Simply attach to the present you’re wrapping up.
Add a decorative touch to plain presents with a festive paper snowflake. Reminiscent of childhood days spent making paper snowflakes, this one is a true nostalgia trip. Construct the design with white paper and stick down with glue or secure with a ribbon for a truly crafty Christmas.
Swap out your standard gift tag this year for some happy snaps of whoever you’re gifting. Pull your favourite picture of them and you from Instagram or Facebook, and attach to some ribbon for an extra little momentum.
For another take on a gifting finishing touch, cut out some simple stars from contrasting paper or tissue to add to your gift. Either stick down with glue, or secure using brown string or ribbon.
Never underestimate the faithful gift bag. Just scrunch up some festive tissue to add an element of surprise to your gift, pop it in the bag and you’re done! Easy.

It’s rare you’ll find myself not wearing trousers and trainers. However, as we’re now in December there are occasions where I have to change this routine. I’m looking to create a tailored look that I can turn to if I decide that my daily outfit isn’t up to scratch.
As we steamroll towards Christmas there are plenty of chances to try something different. If you’re already used to wearing a suit then you’re on pretty good ground when it comes to Christmas parties, however I’m not first to tell people what blazer to wear or lapel size.
To start with, you should consider what is going to best suit you. If you’re looking to buy an off the rail suit; deciding if you need a regular, slim or skinny suit will go a long way. For me I go for a slim suit, but there’s nothing wrong with playing with shape. I wasn’t going to pick a suit without being able to wear it in the day.
With your shape sorted you want to move onto colour. Generally this will be: black, navy and grey. Though you can be bold with a pattern like houndstooth or check. Navy is my new black of late, wearing at least one navy piece where I can. A slim fit navy suit has plenty of flexibility in terms of dressing it up or down.
If I can get away with not wearing a shirt with my suit, I will. Stripe, basic or roll neck are all good options. And if you don’t have to wear a suit at work, there’s a chance you won’t be looking to wear a smart shoe like a derby or monkstrap. A classic pair of trainers will look great with a suit, but this will make your overall look more casual so it’s definitely something to consider.
Want to get Jordan’s look? Check out our tailoring collection for more suit options. Don’t forget to check back tomorrow to see what’s install for day 13 of the Christmas Countdown.
So we’re in the run up to Christmas which means it’s time to start thinking about new wardrobe purchases for social events and Christmas parties coming up.
If you’re anything like me you will want to be the best dressed at all events and the talking point at your work Christmas party.
The great thing about a white shirt is that it’s the perfect wardrobe staple and it tends to go with most things.
Here I have a slim fit white shirt paired with these amazing cropped slim leg trousers.
To finish off the look I have added a crew neck jumper just to throw over the shoulder to give a preppy vibe, tan brogues, a trilby and some shades.
This look is perfect as it is comfortable enough wear to work and into the evening.
This look has a smart casual vibe. This time I have dressed the shirt up with a cardigan but added a hint of red which is great for casually themed Christmas parties.
Again I style this with the houndstooth trousers, a trilby and derby shoes.
With my last look I went for more of a dressy vibe for those who like to go all out.
You can’t go wrong with a with a corduroy blazer especially when it’s paired with cropped slim leg trousers, a black tie, black trilby and some good old black derby shoes.
This look is perfect for the ultimate Christmas event.

It’s amazing how much the same look can change just by swapping out a few elements of it. I don’t know about you but I’ve always found it quite difficult to find jackets that complement a party look perfectly. I remember back in the day when my friends and I would go clubbing in dresses and freeze our toes off in the cold without a jacket. Now I can look back and marvel at the sheer craziness and determination to catch pneumonia of the years 2009 to 2013.
Party season has arrived and it’s super cool how cute the going out jackets are at New Look this season. In the first look, I went for a glam coat, perfect for those upscale parties and maybe even Christmas day lunch in a Michelin-starred restaurant. I love the juxtaposition of the faux fur against the ribbed crop top and suede thigh high boots. Combining different fabric textures is such a good way to channel a high end look.
The second jacket is how you’ll find me at most events- comfy yet chic vibes perfect for this season’s house parties. Finally, leopard print will never go out of fashion and injecting some chic Kate Moss vibes into any look will always be a great idea.
Head to our extensive Jackets & Coats range for some other great options.
Day 17 and 18 of our advent calendar are a two part special. Come back tomorrow to find out what it is!
I was given the beautiful Olivia from www.olivialaura.co.uk. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but I definitely had warmth and comfort in mind when I was choosing her gifts. If you fancy seeing the cosy goodies I picked out for her, head on over to her blog and have a nosy.
The gifts I received from Olivia were right up my street.
First up – an obvious winner – the Cassis Aromatherapy candle. I wasn’t familiar with this scent, but it’s a fresh and simple flavour of blackcurrant berries. Housed in a geometric decorated jar and with minimal wooden detailing, it’s the perfect accompaniment to any bedside table. This was followed up by another geometric lovely – a super on trend copper candle holder, which not only serves its purpose but is also the perfect accompaniment to any flat lay.
Finally, the pièce de résistance, the bag! In a nod to the ever-popular Chloé Faye bag, this black PU satchel boasts a clean circle embellishment with the iconic chain-to-handle attachment in tow. For a spacious, practical and classic dupe at an absolute fraction of the designer price, it’s the perfect addition to any winter wardrobe.

When it comes to present buying I am either super organised with my gifts or very last minute. I know this year it’s probably going to be the latter!
When I saw who I had for my gift swap, I was totally excited because I already follow this gal religiously and we have a very similar style, so I felt like I could choose something pretty easily. It’s always way more fun buying for someone who has similar taste to you. Below is what she chose for me!
For a start, I haven’t taken these slippers off since I opened them. I love a good fluffy slipper (no one wants cold feet in winter) and I have to admit, I almost own as many slippers as I do actual shoes. But as one can never have too many shoes or slippers, it was a welcome addition.
Another lovely wintery addition was this pretty bardot jumper. Now I know off the shoulder and jumper shouldn’t really go in the same sentence (jumpers are supposed to be warm and bare shoulders definitely isn’t) but I can just picture this looking chic as with some black flares and wintery boots.
To add a bit of glam to my wintery haul, I also received a gorgeous pair of earrings (this person must have known I have a slight obsession with circles at the moment). These are perfect for the upcoming party season and will be great to add to a simple black outfit for some extra glamour.
A massive thank you to my Secret Santa. I hope you have all got some great ideas for your Christmas shopping lists!
If you’re taking part in the tradition that is Secret Santa, check out our gifting range. We have something for everyone! Come back tomorrow for a festive playlist and see if yours are in the top 12!
We’re finally in the countdown to Christmas, so it’s about time I share my favourite festive tunes. Even though I’m a super modern kinda gal (where social media reigns supreme in my life) believe it or not; I’m a sucker for old movies, old tunes and the all-encompassing nostalgia that surrounds the holidays.
So in the spirit of the 12 days of Christmas, I’ve got the twelve rockin’ tunes - and your perfect Christmas day outfits! Nearly every year growing up on Christmas eve, my mum would gift us with a new set of pyjamas, so we’d wear them to bed and look awesome for photos the next day… as I got older I may have wised up and dabbed on dash of foundation before it was showtime!
These beauties called out to me. I’m a sucker for black - yes even on Christmas! - so I needed these polka dot babes in my life (Jumper and bottoms). Pour me a glass of champagne and let’s kick-start the party. OK fine, add a dash of orange juice for opening presents.
Now that you’ve got your playlist to jam to, you’ve got some festive appropriate getting ready music. So why not turn the beats up as you get ready for work, on your commute and voilà! Instant happiness provided by Christmas.
Want my go to suggestion that will work for all those festive parties, as well as Christmas day with the family? A red velvet skirt, fitted sweater with a ruffled neck and a cosy jumper for when you’re inevitably hit with the cool winter chill.
For more festive looks check out our full range of party tops.
Check back tomorrow for a festive cocktail masterclass. The perfect idea for a girl’s night in!
Party season prep is upon us, and as a freelancer I don’t often get to dress up around Christmas so here I jumped at the chance. Black is my go to colour of choice when it comes to a night out, but I wanted to make this look a little more elegant than my norm. I opted for a leather skirt, there is something really versatile about the wrap around front. I liked the fact elements of this outfit could be recycled and worn on a daily basis. The wow factor for me is the thigh high boots. I’m not the biggest fan of my legs so I found good thigh high boot on a night out really elongates my legs and makes me feel sassy.
As someone who only drinks on special occasions, I wanted to make my favourite flavour cocktails. These are both gin based with an autumnal feel; one has honey and always reminds me of evenings having hot honey and lemon, and my favourite mocktail has a warming effect with ginger and lime.
I opted to create these warming flavours in these amazing mason style jars by new look.
The alcoholic cocktail is called Bumble Bee and is made with Gin, lemon, and honey. I also added some lemon flavoured soda water to give it a little kick. The mocktail always seems like an odd combination but it’s good for you and tastes pretty damn amazing. It’s called the super green dream drink and consists of half a cucumber, ginger root, apple juice and lime juice. I mean the colour isn’t the most appetizing but at Christmas we do sometimes forget to eat a little healthier, so this is great if like me you like to have a little green in your life.
Getting back to my choice of outfit I love the fact the skirt has waist adjustments, so if like me you’ve a few cocktails and Christmas nibbles, you can still feel comfortable in it whilst dancing away. I think a lot of leather skirts are a little too much for my height and this one suits my shape perfectly. I would team such an outfit with pieces of jewellery that really stand out, you can never have too much sparkle at Christmas. I chose the velvet strappy top because as a child at Christmas time for school productions or parties I would opt to wear my burgundy velvet dress, so it was my homage to my love of velvet at Christmas.

Christmas isn’t far away now and it’s the time to start thinking of presents for your loved ones. However, when it comes to buying gifts you don’t always have to spend a lot of money to get high quality items and stocking fillers. I’ve picked some gifts from the New Look site for under £60 - to show that you can do it too!
I’ve focused on buying for your sister, mum or girlfriend. I have to be honest, I was overwhelmed with the amount of products that are amazingly priced, which makes it simple to find amazing gifts. I tried to pick a range of products to show the diversity of what is on offer. If you want help on finding perfect little gifts then head to the gift section, shop it here.
See my video where I talk you through all of the products featured in more detail…. watch it here:
The most striking difference between Christmas in Germany and the UK is the actual day of the main celebration. In Germany everything is focused on the 24th of December, Christmas Eve.
Although it’s not an official holiday, most shops are still opened until noon and a lot of people still have work, and kids (of course) really look forward to receiving their gifts!
Most Germans keep it casual that night and don’t eat a roast dinner, in my family it’s all about potato salad and sausages.
To keep the vibe chilled we all wear thick knits, I like to go all out for the festivities and wear a Christmas jumper. Dressing up a bit smarter is more common on the 25th and 26th of December, whilst visiting family and friends or going to Christmas parties.
A personal tradition of mine is to collect a new Christmas bauble each year. Last year, a cute miniature Big Ben was welcomed to the decor family which acts as a memento of our move to the UK. I have so many special ones and I am gutted because I had to leave most of them for safety reasons in storage back home.
I’m staying in the UK over the Christmas period this year and I can’t wait to embrace all the traditions and celebrations. Bring it on, London!
Check back tomorrow for a early Christmas gift from us. All will be revealed!
